Had to post this. We have a thread called "Stupid questions", where we post the stupid things people ask, or do in our lives. This one is from LordV:

This one needs a visual aide ...







I own this hat (well, one that looks just like it). It is a ship hat for the USS Enterprise; designation CVN-65. I was wearing this at work the other day; when I went out on break.



Some of our "guests" were walking by and this is the conversation that insued:



Guest 1: U S S Enter prise



LordV: Yup.



Guest 1: That's an ... air craft carrier?



LordV: Yup.



*CVN = Carrier Vessel*



Guest 1: Isn't that a nuclear ship?



LordV: Yup.



*CVN - Carrier Vessel, Nuclear*



Guest 1: That's based out of Bremerton, isn't it?



LordV: Beats me, I don't know where she is at.



Guest 2: Is that Coast Guard?



*stunned silence*



*what use would the Coast Guard have for a nuclear powered ship, 5 football fields long, jam-packed with airplanes*



Guest 1: Nah ... that's Navy.

I went to the mall today with LordV. The anniversary of our first meeting is on the 4th and neither of us had gotten presents for the other. With my car out of commission, this was the only chance for me to get something for LordV. When we got to the mall, we split up, deciding we would call the other, when we were done shopping.



Two of our favorite stores, sell Indian jewelry and statues, including animal drawings. I decided to start there first. I saw something in the first store, that I wanted to get LordV, but I decided to look around, before I bought it.



I went into the second store, called the Trading Post. The trading post is going to close in April, so everything is 50% off. As I walked through, I saw statues of wolves, eagles, owls, buffalo and deer. It had dreamcatchers, beadwork, jewelry, mugs, you name it. I didn't see anything that caught my eye, so I went to leave. I got back up to the front of the store and the security gate was down.



When I asked. The woman said that she would open back up in about 15 minutes. The reason she put the gate down, or so she told me and the other 5 people trapped in there was....



"I have this huge order, I need to wrap, pack and then add it all up and there is only just me. I can't watch all of the people on here and take care of this big order here."



At first, I joked about it. That we had to buy something to get out. But after 20 minutes, I started to get pissed. So, I called LordV. I explained the situation.



"Ummmmm hon, I'm trapped, I need help."



"Ok, how can I help you?"



I explained the situation. It just happen that he was walking past the Security office at the Mall. So, he stopped in and told them.



"You know the Trading post, at the other end of the mall? They are not letting people leave the store."



It took a couple tries to explain the situation to the Security officer but he said he would take care of this immediately.



So....At this point, I am standing at the front, looking out the gate, waiting. The worker is ignoring everyone but the people that just bought a sword, a couple spears, some arrows, along with a bunch of knick Knacks.



People would come to the gate and even the customer that she was helping, was telling people that she would reopen in 15 minutes.



I smile when I see the Security Officer come up and look over the situation. He looked at me and I mouthed, "Thank god your here." He immediately grabbed the gate at the bottom and pushed it open. Myself and 4 others escaped behind him.



"So, what is going on here?" The officer asked.



"Oh Thank God your here, your just in time to help these people carry their packages to the car."



"Why is the gate down?" He asked.



"Well it was a big order and I am working alone. I was so busy wrapping that I didn't want to worry about shoplifters. So, I closed the gate to be sure."



At that point I walked away.
